Run Profitable Internet Marketing Campaigns

Today, technology and commerce go hand in hand, making it almost impossible to thrive in the business world without an online presence. Internet marketing has the potential to be the deciding factor in your company’s success or failure. This selection of handpicked internet marketing tips and tricks, will give your campaign a competitive edge.

In opt-in email marketing, tie your content and offers together as tightly as possible. Good content that explains how a person can use or benefit from a product or service can motivate customers to buy. For this tip to work, however, the information should not be in heavy marketing speak. Find knowledgeable authors that provide unbiased information if at all possible.

If you do not have a house e-mail list make one right away! This is often a great tool that many people do not utilize for internet marketing. Once you have one, let people know about it. Make it simple to subscribe to, do not ask for more information than you need and send quality e-mails to your followers, customers and visitors who sign up for the e-mail services. People still forward e-mails to their friends and family members. It is a tool to not be overlooked!

Use local business directories. Many online business directories will provide free listings. Get your business listed on as many as possible to attract more visitors to your site. Search for the directories that offer free listings, since there is no need to pay for something that you can get for free.

When you’re marketing your website or business, one of the most important things to remember is the proper usage of keywords. You want keywords that are not only relevant to your particular site or business, but you also want to use keywords that other people are searching for. You need to target a particular market here.

When considering internet marketing for a content heavy site, be sure to keep content posting consistent. Your users expect to see new content on a predictable schedule, whether new posts appear hourly, daily or weekly. Keeping to a consistent schedule allows visitors to know when to come back to the site for the latest information you are providing.

Publishing an e-zine and having it sent to users is a good way to remind them of all of the great items available on your site. Make sure that each issue of the e-zine gives users a good amount of new content so that they do not feel like they are reading the same information all of the time.

Identify an overall meaning to the articles that you use for internet marketing. You want to have a special message that is sent in each article or every internet campaign you put on, then your customers and target customers are able to see what you are all about. Is there something special that you want to share? This should be included.

Rather than allow your company to be left behind in the shift toward e-commerce, use the advice in this article to create more effective, efficient online marketing tools. Doing so will create endless opportunities for better consumer response, customer loyalty, increased site traffic, and most importantly, higher sales volume of your products and services.

What’s Toll Free Numbers Got To Do With Ecommerce?

What’s Toll Free Numbers Got To Do With Ecommerce?

Sometimes skimping on things can save you good money. But skimping is not always the wisest business strategy. For example, I could’ve written this article in the windows program notepad as opposed to Microsoft Word, and saved a good $500 and never had to buy the latest version of Microsoft Office… However, wouldn’t it be worth the $500 if the improved impression of professionalism put forth in all of my writings some how garnered ten times that in profit? Would you have read this far if I had unknowingly published this article with a horribly obvious typo in the title? That’s right – an insignificant error caused by “saving money” can actually COST you money in the long run.
## Impression Is Everything! ##
If you have spent months developing a beautiful ecommerce website to give people the impression that you are the safest choice for whatever product or service you’re trying to sell them, then it’d be pretty stupid to have all of that professionalism dismissed by a simple mistake: assuming you’re going to SAVE money by not getting a toll free number!
The fact is, the sight of a toll free number is something that subconsciously stirs an idea of professionalism – something we’re accustomed to from corporate America. Area codes are for calling your relatives and friends, after all. The phone prefix “800” or “877” or “888” for some reason, as if by magic, stirs in us the image of a phone operator in a tall skyscraper that deals with hundreds of clients a day – someone that doesn’t make their living off of ripping people off. The appearance of professionalism is the embodiment of confidence within the business world.
## Okay, so you’re convinced… now what? ##
Not having a toll free number for your ecommerce business (no matter how small) will cost you more in the long run than the short term savings will save you. The best part is though that toll free numbers are not NEARLY as expensive as one might be inclined to think! In fact, at the moment the prices for toll free numbers are as low as 2.7c/min from places like www.patricklongdistance.com.
## What other services can I benefit from? ##
It just so happens that toll free numbers are not the only affordable telecommunications service that might be useful to the owner of an ecommerce web site. Conference calling (for those teleseminars), low long distance rates, broadband or t1 internet access, and more are all examples of things that can be gotten more cost effectively off the internet via web pages such as the one I provided in the last paragraph.

How To Increase Your Blog And Website Rankings The Easy Way

How To Increase Your Blog And Website Rankings The Easy Way

I have not really paid much attention to this method of link building until now, but have now decided to give it more attention after realizing how well this trick works. If you look around at the well-known Webmaster Forums you’ll find many people looking for a sponsor of templates they built. These Templates can be for forums, directories or blogs (in particular WordPress Blogs). These designer design and build templates for the software of their choice and then release it for free.

Under the license terms a user of such a template needs to leave the sponsor links intact. These links are usually located in the footer. By finding sponsors for their templates these designers actually make money. If you are a good designer it might take you an hour or two to develop a nice looking template. You can easily sell 2 sponsored links on a design for approx. $35 and $100 each. Depending on where you live this can be a significant source of income.

From a sponsor point of view this means if the template is promoted well, he get a lot of back links from other blogs. Imagine a free template with your link in it used 100 times – this can be significant if those blogs grow in popularity and Google Page Rank. The real beauty of this “seo trick” is not to concentrate on the publicly available sponsorships you find in forums, but to identify a designer who delivers good work and to contact this designer and to work with them directly. Bypass the middleman, bypass the competition.

In general this seems to be an underdeveloped market with high link building potential. If used in a mix of normal link building and SEO it can be a great tool to make your blog or website more popular. With Google and other search engines becoming more difficult to deal with you have to become more creative if you want to rank high in search engines.

Ecommerce – Delayed Gratification

Ecommerce – Delayed Gratification

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last, Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” – Zig Ziglar

Humanity desires acknowledgement and we’re not used to delayed gratification. We want what we want – and we want it right now.

There is an unfair proposition in online marketing. This inequality can be found in list building, blogging, site promotion and virtually every other area of establishing a web presence.

For the site owner there is no such thing as instant gratification. You will not likely receive the feedback you’re hoping for and it can seem as if you are improving your web presence for only one person and frankly you’re getting tired of impressing yourself.

Sometimes it can seem like establishing your ecommerce is a bit like being asked to fill the Grand Canyon with a teaspoon. You keep at it, but it’s hard to see the results.

The good news is while you keep working to establish your web presence you are finding better ways to say things, better content to present while the rough edges are smoothed out. Hopefully all this happens during a weak moment when you consider a long-term career in the corrugated cardboard industry.

Ecommerce is a thankless job that is best suited for individuals that understand the virtue of patience and are willing to work to envision a future when the present doesn’t look so great.

“The ability to discipline yourself to delay gratification in the short term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term is the indispensable pre-requisite for success” – Brian Tracy

We live in a time when immediacy is so important to so many that a significant number of businesses come and go because the owner failed to understand that delayed gratification is the payoff for perseverance and patience.

In 2006 there were 671,800 new businesses and 544,800 business closures according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

It is easy to surmise that many of these businesses didn’t have a clear understanding of the long-term trench warfare that comes with the territory of business startup.

This article is actually designed to encourage you to think long-term. Your ability to look further ahead than the next sale is going to be important if you want to succeed.

Ecommerce can provide a significantly improved market for your products, but you must continue to do the hard work of putting your best face forward even when your site statistics may seem as if your performing to an empty concert hall.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill

Your Basic Adsense Information

Your Basic Adsense Information

Are you looking for Adsense information? Google Adsense is an extremely popular program but it can also be confusing when you first start out. This article hopes to clear up some of the confusion.

What is Google Adsense?

It works like this. An advertiser can place an ad on your website or blog (with your consent) through Google. Then, when someone clicks on any of the ads that you are displaying, you get paid a portion of the revenue. Google ads come in various shapes and sizes. They can be in simple text, flashing, animated or picture adverts.

Signing up:

Singing up for Google Adsense is relatively easy. But a very common mistake that new AdSense users tend to make is that they do not confirm their accounts. If you want to get paid, you need to do this.

Once your website has been accepted by Google Adsense (the application process can take a couple of days to complete), you can create some ads for your site. The easiest way to do this is to walk step by step through the Adsense information contained on the “AdSense Setup” tab. You have several options to choose from and each are explained thoroughly. You can edit every component of the ads including, colors, layouts and even the types of ads you want to display.

Placing your ads on your site is a little more complicated but it only takes one time to really understand what you need to do. Also, certain platforms, like Blogger, Squidoo, HubPages and other web content sites, do this automatically for you based on the keywords that are targeted in your website. Remember to grant third party sites the right to host adverts for you. If you’re placing your ads on your sites manually, you just need to copy and HTML code that Google provides you with and paste it into your website where you want.

How much money you make with Google Adsense depends on many factors. The advertisers have made a bid for each time someone clicks on their ad. If you are featuring a high-bid ad, you will make more money when someone clicks on it. But if you aren’t getting any traffic to your site, you won’t get any clicks. So, keywords are also very important. Make sure that your site is targeting the right keywords and the ads that go along with these keywords. Then, when you do get traffic to your site, those visiting will find relevant content in the ads that are displayed and they will be more likely to click on them.

Google pays you either by check or by EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) into your bank account. You are paid the month following the month that you made earnings.

Hopefully this basic Google Adsense information will get you started on the right foot.

The one thing we have to remember is the Internet is a forever changing world. Making money online with Internet marketing requires you to always keep up to date with everything in your niche market. Yes I did say everything, who said making money online was going to be easy. The topic for this article is AdSense information. Always keep up to date with changing technology and different techniques for using AdSense for your blog. It is your potential money.

What is AdSense? Google created a system for advertisers to place their ads online through Google AdWords. When an advertiser creates an ad for their products and services their promoting, Google then places the ad on websites that match the content of their ads. Google AdSense ads can be run through content, mobile, search, and feeds.

Here is an example of how AdSense works, If you create a blog on fitness and add Google AdSense to your blog, Google will run fitness ads on your website to match your fitness content. Anytime a visitor on your website clicks on the ad you will get a commission for it. Usually it’s only a few scents, however with allot of traffic coming to your blog and clicking on your ads than a few scents can add up very quickly.

Here are three Google AdSense plugins you can add to your WordPress blog right away and start making money.

* AdSense Deluxe – gives you advanced options for managing the automatic insertion of Google AdSense ads for your WordPress posts. AdSense deluxe allows you to Easily switch all AdSense ads to a new color scheme on your blog.
* AdSense Injection – will insert AdSense code randomly into a existing blog. AdSense injection takes a random paragraph break in your article and inserts AdSense code. AdSense injection will insert one per story, It also gives you a choice for how many you want to show on single post pages.
* AdSense Inline – inserts Google AdSense in blog posts.

There is no limit to how much money you can make online, only the limit you place on yourself.

Seo – Should You Share A Blog?

Seo – Should You Share A Blog?

Sometimes it is difficult to keep up with a blog especially if your blog is part of a field in which there are many changes or developments such as celebrity news or technology developments.

There are several blogs on the net where several contributors share one blog to make sure it is always fat and juicy and laden with fresh information. In this blog format it would not be unusual to see six or seven lawyers contributing to one blog or a group of book reviewers writing reviews (possibly hired by someone who is linking to a big book store like Amazon.)

Whether or not you want to share your blog comes down to how you want to identify yourself to your readers –as an expert who knows more than the rest or as an expert who is open to other people’s opinions. However these types of shared expert blogs often blossom into genuine information and reference material portals that can bring you a lot of attention, traffic and business. The idea is to not let any other expert that you are sharing a blog with outshine you. Such arrangements work best if a firm schedule is set about whose turn it is to write a blog and if certain themes are assigned by the group and then stuck to so that nobody is treading on anyone else’s toes.

Another possibility is to join a web site that already has multiple blogs on it. This is a good option if you want to build an audience quickly as many of these blog sites, such as wordpress.com all ready have a lot of traffic and your blog is hosted under the umbrella of their advertising. However the problem with this tact is that you don’t have your own unique URL, which can make you slightly harder to find in the search engines.

Nation Branding and Place Marketing – VII. Marketing Implementation, Evaluation, and Control

Nation Branding and Place Marketing – VII. Marketing Implementation, Evaluation, and Control

VII. Marketing Implementation, Evaluation, and Control

How can a country (region, state, city, municipality, or other polity) judge the efficacy of its attempts to brand or re-brand itself and, consequently, to attract customers (investors, tourism operators, bankers, traders, and so on)?

Marketing is not a controlled process in an insulated lab. It is prone to mishaps, last minute changes, conceptual shifts, political upheavals, the volatility of markets, and, in short, to the vagaries of human nature and natural disasters. Some marketing efforts are known to have backfired. Others have yielded lukewarm results. Marketing requires constant fine tuning and adjustments to reflect and respond to the kaleidoscopic environment of our times.

But maximum benefits (under the circumstances) are guaranteed if the client (the country, for instance) implements a rigorous Marketing Implementation, Evaluation, and Control (MIEV) plan.

The first task is to set realistic quantitative and qualitative interim and final targets for the marketing program – and then to constantly measure its actual performance and compare it to the hoped for outcomes. Even nation branding and place marketing require detailed projections of expenditures vs. income (budget and pr-forma financial statements) for monitoring purposes.

The five modules of MIEV are:

1. Annual plan control

This document includes all the government’s managerial objectives and (numerical) goals. It is actually a breakdown of the aforementioned pro-forma financial statements into monthly and quarterly figures of “sales” (in terms of foreign direct investment, income from tourism, trade figures, etc.) and profitability.
It comprises at least five performance gauging tools:

I. Sales analysis (comparing sales targets to actual sales and accounting for discrepancies).

II. Market-share analysis (comparing the country’s “sales” with those of its competitors). The country should also compare its own sales to the total sales in the global market and to sales within its “market segment” (neighboring countries, countries which share its political ambience, same-size countries, etc.).

III. Expense-to-sales analysis demonstrates the range of costs – both explicit and hidden (implicit) – of achieving the country’s sales goals.

IV. Financial analysis calculates various performance ratios such as profits to sales (profit margin), sales to assets (asset turnover), profits to assets (return on assets), assets to worth (financial leverage), and, finally, profits to worth (return on net worth of infrastructure).

V. Customer satisfaction is the ultimate indicator of tracking goal achievement. The country should actively seek, facilitate, and encourage feedback, both positive and negative by creating friendly and ubiquitous complaint and suggestion systems. Frequent satisfaction and customer loyalty surveys should form an integral part of any marketing drive.

Regrettably, most acceptable systems of national accounts sorely lack the ability to cope with place marketing and nation branding campaigns. Intangibles such as enhanced reputation or investor satisfaction are excluded. There is no clear definition as to what constitute the assets of a country, its “sales”, or its “profits”.
2. Profitability control

There is no point in squandering scarce resources on marketing efforts that guarantee nothing except name recognition. Sales, profits, and expenditures should count prominently in any evaluation (and re-evaluation) of on-going campaigns. The country needs to get rid of prejudices, biases, and misconceptions and clearly identify what products and consumer groups yield the most profits (have the highest relative earnings-capacity). Money, time, and manpower should be allocated to cater to the needs and desires of these top-earners.

3. Efficiency control

The global picture is important. An overview of the marketing and sales efforts and their relative success (or failure) is crucial. But a micro-level analysis is indispensable. What is the sales force doing, where, and how well? What are the localized reactions to the advertising, sales promotion, and distribution drives? Are there appreciable differences between the reactions of various market niches and consumer types?

4. Strategic control

The complement of efficiency control is strategic control. It weighs the overall and long-term marketing plan in view of the country’s basic data: its organization, institutions, strengths, weaknesses, and market opportunities. It is recommended to compare the country’s self-assessment (marketing-effectiveness rating review) with an analysis prepared by an objective third party.
The marketing-effectiveness rating review incorporates privileged information such as input and feedback from the country’s “customers” (investors, tourist operators, traders, bankers, etc.), internal reports regarding the adequacy and efficiency of the country’s marketing information, operations, strengths, strategies, and integration (of various marketing, branding, and sales tactics).

5. Marketing audit

The marketing audit is, in some respects, the raw material for the strategic control. Its role is to periodically make sure that the marketing plan emphasizes the country’s strengths in ways that are compatible with shifting market sentiments, current events, fashions, preferences, needs, and priorities of relevant market players. This helps to identify marketing opportunities and new or potential markets.

The Encyclopedia Britannica (2005 edition) describes the marketing audit thus:

“… (I)t covers all aspects of the marketing climate (unlike a functional audit, which analyzes one marketing activity), looking at both macro-environment factors (demographic, economic, ecological, technological, political, and cultural) and micro- or task-environment factors (markets, customers, competitors, distributors, dealers, suppliers, facilitators, and publics). The audit includes analyses of the company’s marketing strategy, marketing organization, marketing systems, and marketing productivity. It must be systematic in order to provide concrete conclusions based on these analyses. To ensure objectivity, a marketing audit is best done by a person, department, or organization that is independent of the company or marketing program. Marketing audits should be done not only when the value of a company’s current marketing plan is in question; they must be done periodically in order to isolate and solve problems before they arise.”

E-Commerce Shopping Carts Features Costumers Need

As more and more people cling toward online shopping, they create demands for better and more efficient e-commerce shopping cart. And since they are the reason why you are doing business, giving them what they want should be your top priority. The following is a list of features that costumers may look for:

Payment options

Credit cards are often a preferred payment methods by most costumers. But those who are hesitant to give their personal information online choose alternative payments like checks, money orders, PayPal and Google Checkout. As an online merchant, always make sure to answer different types of costumers by carrying different types of payment systems.

Product Reviews

According to a CompUSA and iPerceptions study, 63% of costumers are more likely to buy from sites with product ratings and reviews. So no matter how well you promote your products online, if your site has no product review and rating, you cannot maximize your sale potential. That said; choose a shopping cart vendor that provides product rating.

Real-Time Inventory

Nothing is more annoying to costumers than going through a lengthy process of placing orders only to find out that the products they want to buy are out of stock. Real-time inventory assures the costumer that the products they see on their screen are available. Also, real-time inventory feature helps you as a merchant to monitor your stock and replenish if necessary.

Website Security

SSL or Secure Socket Layer data encryption assures costumers that their personal data are kept confidential. SSL certificate seal can be seen on the home page of your website.

Special Offers

Many merchants, especially those who have just stared their businesses online do not know that with a right shopping cart feature (coupon codes, order discounts, gift cards and free shipping), they can actually sell their products well.

Merchant who are looking for new costumers or trying to dispose old stocks can benefit from this feature.

Express Checkout

When costumers are ready to buy, make sure that you handle them as fast and as simple as possible. The lengthy process of purchasing items online can be frustrating and can drive customers away if you keep hold of them during checkout. Eliminate the risk of losing sure sales by using shopping cart express checkout option.

Order Tracking

Your responsibility to your costumers does not end when they checked-out and paid you for the products they have purchased. A good indication that you are a good merchant is the personal touch you provide to every costumer. Order tracking automatically sends order confirmation and shipping information via email. Costumers should be able to monitor where their purchased items are by logging into an account created during registration. Order tracking helps your business and your brand build reputation and costumer confidence.

Search and Browse

Costumers do not stay too long on a website if they cannot find the products they are looking for. Your main goal, therefore, is to give them the right tool that will let them search and browse from your list of products fast.

Costumer satisfaction is always the primary goal in any business. Online shopping is no different. Make sure that your costumers are always pleased by the service you provide through the help of these e-commerce shopping cart features.

If You Have A Blog But Not A Lot Of Time, Here Are 5 Tips To Help

If You Have A Blog But Not A Lot Of Time, Here Are 5 Tips To Help

1.Start a Community Blog. A community blog is just that, a community of like-minded people who contribute to a blog. One of the obvious advantages to this type of blog is that you don’t need to spend a lot of time posting yourself to be part of an active blog. If you have a community of three or more people and you each post at least twice a week then you will have a pretty active blog. Be sure to use an RSS feed and have all contributors post the feed on their sites to get the benefit of each sites visitors.

2.Hire a team of bloggers. Newspapers have contributors, blogs can too. If you’ve ever used writers to do articles and content for you , they can do the same type of thing with a blog. Many of the most successful blogs are already doing this. The combination of group promotion effort, regular updates and pinging can help bring in traffic quickly. One thing to note here is blogs are a somewhat social tool. Some very popular niche blogs are not all that visible in the search engines, yet they get a lot of traffic because people recommend them and they become a sort of buzz hub. Search engines do not always pick up on this but they do eventually. This is why group blogging can be very powerful because you’re leveraging the power of not one (your) influence group but several people’s influence group. If you do pay your bloggers, you can always offset this cost by displaying Adsense ads. Many popular blogs earn a good amount in Adsense, that they make a nice profit even after paying their bloggers team. After a while it becomes a passive income stream.

3.Recycle Content. By taking previously published articles, interviews or even audio and breaking it up into blog sized pieces you can recycle old content and make it new again! You can break up long pieces into a bunch of segments and have a series going for, say, a week or so. Then you won’t have to worry about coming up with new content for a week!

4.Include audio. For some of us, it’s much easier to speak than to write. So, mix up your blog. Carry a small portable MP3 recorder or blog by phone. What a convenient way for moms who are running around all day , busing the kids where they need to go , doing errands , and whatever else needs to be done. Maybe you’re stuck in traffic, or waiting for the kids to get out piano class or school. An idea or thought strikes and you think “Oh I need to share that on my blog” so, pick up your phone (assuming you have a cell phone – and many of us do), dial a number, say what’s on your mind, save it and you’re done. Your blog is published. If you’re using Blogger, you can do this for free through AudioBlog. It involves calling a long distance number, but most cell phone plans don’t charge extra for long distance anyway so you’re not incurring any extra cost.

If you’re using another blog publishing tool like WordPress, Movable Type or TypePad, then you’ll need a service like AudioBlogger.com. This one is a paid service but it’s only $4.95 a month and it gives you more options like a nice flash player, statistics and even video that make it worth while.

5.Automating Your Blog. One of the things I love about using WordPress as a publishing tool is that it offers a forward blog entry option that saves me tons of time. By using this tool you can blog ahead of time and have your entries posted on the day and time you choose. So let’s say you have a week’s worth of posts ready to go. You don’t have to come back each day and post, instead you write everything up in one day and schedule a new post out 24 hrs after the next. This will save you time!

Let’s face it. There will be times we have a ton to say and times we have little or nothing to share. Instead of having multiple entries one day and nothing over the next few days, by using forward entry you can blog everyday of the week. Or rather you blog once and the blog publishing tool does the job automatically the rest of the week. You can even forward blog for weeks and months ahead of time.

Note: Blogger users unfortunately cannot do this because Blogger publishes all entries regardless what you date it immediately.
